Together Wilcoxon Sensing Technologies and Piezo Technologies form Amphenol Piezo Technology Products.  The operating unit has 200 employees and operates out of two vertically integrated facilities; one in Maryland and one in Indiana.

Wilcoxon Sensing Technologies is a leader in the design and manufacture of a diverse array of accelerometers, hydrophones, projectors, and electronic measurement products supporting industrial monitoring, marine, mil-aero and automotive markets. 

Piezo Technologies, is a leader in piezoceramic components, transducers, and systems supporting the NDT, medical device, oil services, mil-aero, and sounder markets. 



The Sr Director of Global Sales & Marketing will be responsible for the sales and marketing activities of Amphenol Piezo Technology Products and to deliver strong revenue and profit growth in new and existing markets.  This position will strategically define the business's marketing and business development strategy, and contribute to the new product development strategy.  The Sr Director will lead a global, multifunctional sales team that will expand sales within existing customer accounts, grow the customer base, expand sales into new adjacent markets, develop and manage the marketing plan, monitor and analyze sales and marketing activities against goals.

The Sr Director of Global Sales & Marketing holds ultimate responsibility for the company's sales performance and marketing. This position requires a highly developed professional, with expert knowledge of both strategic and value selling, marketing knowledge and excellent communication skills across multiple cultures, and a strong understanding of commercial contracts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver strong revenue and profit growth in both new and existing markets
  • Lead the Amphenol Piezo Technology Products global multifunctional sales team (20+ individuals)
  • Engage and leverage the Amphenol Sensor Technology Group multifunctional sales team (150+ individuals)
  • Manage a global network of sales representatives and distributors
  • Strategically define the business's marketing and business development strategy, contribute to the new product development strategy
  • Oversee marketing plan development, monitor and analyze marketing activities against goals
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasting of existing and new business.
  • Oversee the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, exhibits, and promotion programs.
  • Manage personnel including but not limited to career planning, goal setting, compensation and all related HR matters. Recruits, supervises, evaluates and develops the marketing/sales staff with strong coaching, mentoring and communication skills.
  • Oversee the sales and customer support process to assure the achievement of excellent results.
  • Develop analytics to evaluate efforts and report the metrics of success to the rest of the management team.
  • Develop budget for all sales and marketing activities and participate in the tactical and strategic planning for both the sales and marketing department and the business unit.
  • Visit potential and existing customers, building strong loyal business relationships with their personnel.
  • Monitor product development and production schedules assuring excellent communication with customers. Participate in the development of new project proposals
  • Maintain customer and account sales history records.
  • Determine the best method to resolve complex customer problems and ensure that open issues get resolved.
  • Develop and coordinate sales selling cycle and methodology.
  • Oversee company branding.
  • Directly manage major and critical developing client accounts, and coordinate the management of all other accounts.
  • Promote positive relations internally and externally with partners, vendors, and distributors.
  • Recommend and administer policies and procedures to enhance operations.
  • Promote the company's development of work ethics, loyalty, integrity and proper business philosophy.
  • Other functions as assigned



Education / Experience / Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related degree. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years professional experience in sales and marketing.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a senior level sales position.
  • Minimum of five years of experience developing and executing successful sales growth strategy preferably in the sensor industry.
  • Professional training in value and strategic selling preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution.
  • Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
  • Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations.
  • Experience in planning marketing strategies.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
  • Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 60% of the time.
  • Must be a United States citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a US government Secret Security clearance.
